CHAPTER READ: John 10
SCRIPTURE SELECTED: John 10:16
16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.
OBSERVATION: The good shepherd is committed to care for his sheep and so he knows his sheep intimately and will do anything for his sheep, even lay down his life for his sheep. What is killing the shepherd is that he has sheep that are outside His sheep pen. They find themselves trapped in a pen with a shepherd that does not know or care for them and who only wants to use them for his own desire. Jesus says, “I must rescue them and bring them under my care!
APPLICATION: Jesus brought me into His sheep pen at a great price. He would not rest until I come under the authority of His voice. His sheep listen because He speaks with love. He calls me by name. He never orders me about, nor does He force His way upon me. He sets the example, He leads me and I follow gladly! His voice is far different from the voice I once was subjected too!
PRAYER: Lord, my ears are open, speak and I will hear and respond! Amen.
