CHAPTER READ: John 11
SCRIPTURE SELECTED: John 11:5-7
5 Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. 6 So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, 7 and then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.”
OBSERVATION: Jesus loved Martha, Mary and Lazarus so when he heard that Lazarus sick He stayed where he was two more days and then he said to his disciples, “Let’s go back to Judea.” Jesus went back to Judea where he raised Lazarus from the dead! It was a two days journey and Lazarus had been in the grave 4 days when Jesus arrived. When Jesus was waiting, he did so out of His love for Mary, Martha and Lazarus.
APPLICATION: When I pray, I’m often thinking just about the answer to “my prayer” hand about my need. When Jesus answers prayer, He always does it out of love, but not just for me, but for everyone involved, so that God will get the glory. So when it seems that the answer to His prayer is late…I need to think again and rest in the fact that He loves me and those around me.
PRAYER: Jesus, I know you love me. When my prayers seem to go unanswered, may I realize that You a bigger and greater perspective, and that even in your silence, You are still loving me and those around me! Amen

There is a beautiful song- “When He’s four days late, He’s still on time”. Mary and Martha saw this truth, first hand.
