CHAPTER READ: Hebrews 11
SCRIPTURE SELECTED: Hebrews11:13
13 All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth.
OBSERVATION: Chapter 11 of Hebrews is the “Faith Chapter” and it recounts for us men and women who lived by faith and who died in their faith that God would fulfill the promises that He had made. We live in a day in which so very many of those promises of God have been fulfilled in what Jesus accomplished.
APPLICATION: “I want answers and I want them Now’”. And yet this life we live as Christians is a life of “faith in God”, believing that He will carry out His promises and trusting in His love. I need to quit waiting for “all the answers” before I begin living into His promises!
PRAYER: Lord, may I follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before me. Those who lived by faith even to the day they died. I want to be found faithful to the day I die! I want to praise You for the many promises I’ve seen fulfilled through Your coming! I praise You for the promises which will one day be made complete! Amen
