Let Peace Reign

BY: Pastor Bob Millers

CHAPTER READ: Colossians 3

15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

Paul in this chapter has just dressed us up saying that as God’s chosen people we are to put on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Over all of that, we put on love which binds it all together. Now that we are dressed as children of the king, members of one body called to peace, we are to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts with thankfulness!

We are to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts. This is something that we must do in cooperation with those who are part of this body that we have become part of. We all belong together. We have all been clothed with the same attitudes. None of us are above any other. We have been called to peace. Our top priority is to let the Peace of Christ rule in our hearts so that we are all working together with thankfulness. There is the top priority for us, not an add on, not optional. It isn’t something we ‘have to do”, but rather what we “get” to do!

You, Lord, have made it possible and have brought it about and brought us together. Lord may we now live it out, work together, share with one another, experience it, and celebrate with thanksgiving this peace which has become part of us. Amen
