CHAPTER READ: Titus 2
SCRIPTURE SELECTED: Titus 2:11-14
For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
OBSERVATION: Salvation is offered to all people, not just those who deserve it. If that were the case, we would all be disqualified. This salvation is realized and experienced as we say “NO” to ungodliness and worldly passions and we begin to live self-controlled upright and godly lives. This salvation which is taking place in us will be fully realized at the appearing of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ for He came to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people are eager to do what is good!
APPLICATION: Salvation is not just something that I wait for, but is being realized each and every day as I say “NO” to that which is ungodly and not pleasing to Christ and begin to live by the strength and power which God provides enabling me to live a pure and holy life…the life which He is showing to me.
PRAYER: Lord, continue to change me and set me free. Thank You for the salvation offered to me. I want to live into that Salvation with my whole heart and being. I ask that You will continue to set me free from worldly passions and enable me to live self-controlled, upright and godly! Amen
