TITLE: “Christ at Work in me”
CHAPTER READ: Colossians 1
SCRIPTURE SELECTED: Colossians 1:28-29
28 He is the one we proclaim, admonishing, and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ. 29 To this end, I strenuously contend with all the energy Christ so powerfully works in me.
OBSERVATION:
We proclaim Jesus, not an idea or a philosophy. We admonish and teach everyone, not some but “all”, with wisdom. Our goal is to present everyone fully mature in Christ. We want everyone to be all that Christ wants them to be. My strength to carry out His purpose comes not through myself but from the energy that Christ has provided and which is at work within me.
APPLICATION:
Christ is at work within me. He provides the power to carry out His purposes. This does not mean that I don’t have a part to play…but rather I am the mouthpiece and the teacher that Christ works through and in whom His power is made visible. I need to draw upon His resources and not my own! When I can’t, I can be assured that His power at work in me, can!
PRAYER:
Lord, as I start a new day and a brand new week, I have no idea all the challenges or people that I will meet and encounter. But I know that You are with Me and Your wisdom is sufficient to give me direction and Your power more than enough for victory. May I be about Your business and not my own business! Amen.
