CHAPTER READ: Revelation 7
SCRIPTURE SELECTED: Revelation 7:11-12
11 All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, 12 saying: “Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!”
OBSERVATION: The central focus of all those around the throne of God, is God! It isn’t the architecture or the beauty of heaven that receives awe and adulation. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God! And the “Amen both begins and ends their prayer! For they begin by affirming the Praise that had just been offered by those in “white robes” and then they add to it! That is “Conversational Prayer”!
APPLICATION: Oh how I need to engage in the prayers of those who offer praise and petitions of those around me. I need to offer my “Amen” to the prayers of others and then I can lift my praise and petition to the Lord. Too often I find that when others are praying my mind “doing it’s own thing” but when we as a Church gather to pray we need to be engaged together whether we are the one voicing the prayer. In that way we can offer our “Amen of Affirmation”
PRAYER: Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!
